Spread over 649 square kilometers, Gandhinagar is considered the second planned city of India after Chandigarh.

Lal Krishna Advani was leading this seat for years. 7 assembly constituencies come under the purview of this Lok Sabha seat. If we talk about Lal Krishna Advani, he has won the Gandhinagar seat 6 times. Apart from this, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has also won this seat in the year 1996.

Once again, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is contesting on a BJP ticket on this seat, he is pitted against Congress candidate Sonal Patel. Sonal Patel is a trusted leader of the Congress leadership and is currently the Maharashtra co-in-charge.
Voting Date
The Election Commission has announced that the Lok Sabha polls in Gujarat will be conducted in a single phase on May 7. The counting of votes for the state will take place on June 4.
